a peek inside my notes app
just really the inner workings of my brain
I love my notes app. I recently organized them all into categories which makes me feel more put together. I wanted to a share a little peek into what some of my notes are. I love when people share this because I get ideas for new things to add!
CATEGORIES:
Birthdays: Each year on my birthday I spend the night before writing down my goals for the next age, as well as highlights from the past year. I also go back and look at my goals from the previous age, and write notes next to each one. It’s my present self going back to my past self sharing everything we did and it’s nice. It makes you realize how much you actually do in a year, and how you really do work on your goals and things you manifest came true. I try to spend the 20 minutes before midnight (if I’m up) writing down these goals and manifesting. I’ve done this. (sad note that I lost the one for this year, and I realized I forgot to write down any som maybe this will just be a reflection year)
Books: I don’t add in a lot about books, since it all is tracked on Goodreads, but I keep a list from my top books from each year in here that I can easily send to someone when they ask for recs.
Brand: This has all notes that have to do with my own social media and blog: codes/links, extra income tracking, content ideas, brand emails, etc.
Journal/Writing: This has a bunch of journal prompts I’ve saved, notes from my creative writing class, and book/story ideas if I ever choose to write a book or more short stories
Learning: “things that fascinate me”, “things I want to learn”, and a long note from things I read in a book about the brain
Manifesting/Goals: “surrendipitous occurrences”- really just when I get Deja Vu or manifest something without realizing it at first, “my in’s and out’s list for 2024”, a big note I wrote in Sicily in 2022, and notes from a tarot card reading from 2021 (lol)
NYC: A list of all restaurants I want to go to, and ones I’ve been to, a list of activities I want to do, and a list of places I want to go to (stores, museums, etc)
Recipes: A list of past meals I’ve made for when I run out of ideas, and links to recipes I’ve saved
Travel: A list of recs from Paris that I saved and organized to share with others and saving for next time, a list of things I want to do in London (a trip I had planned that a friend bailed on before, so might be going later this year)
Words: This has a lot of notes from church sermons, podcasts, books, therapy, and lessons I’ve learned. I also have a list “kind words” where I add in sweet texts or messages I receive from family or friends, or even nice comments on Substack
Yearly Goals: Similar to my birthday one, but yearly goals and a bigger deep dive into the year with more concrete goals

Ok. You just inspired me to organize my notes into categories.
I loved seeing this. A nice reminder that my once organized notes app could use a little spring cleaning. Out of curiosity - whats at the top of your NYC food list? :)
